Skinks

This  animal  is  call  a skink.  A   skink  is  an  animal that  looks  like   a  snake   and  a  lizard  together.My   first   detail  is   that        this   animal   is   8   inches,  but  usually   smaller.My second detail is where it lives, it lives in woodlands, pine forests and areas near and away from water. But really, it is closer to western United States and part of Canada.



Skinks   favorite  foods  is insects such as crickets, beetles, flies and grasshoppers; spiders and earthworms. Snakeish lizards have smooth curved scales. It makes this lizard look shiny. When the skink is young, its tail is a brilliant shade of blue. As the skink gets older, the blue color fades.
